TOUCH-SCREEN  HOT RUNNER CONTROLLER  INTRODUCED BY ORYCON.

The ORYCON model 357-eTM offers intuitive touch-screen operation, small footprint, manual override to each individual zone and fast set-up.
In addition, it is loaded with new features designed to improve productivity and simplify the task of controlling Hot Runner Systems.

The 357-eTM controller can be operated with minimal operator training and is ruggedly built for production environments, utilizing the all-metal construction typical of other Orycon models.

A basic 12 zone unit measures 6 x 6.5 x 24 inches (15 x 16 x 60 cm ) without stand.

A 96 zone unit has a compact footprint of 18 x 24 inches (45 x 60 cm ) and stands 64 inches (162 cm ) tall. Power rating is up to15 Amps per zone.

A “fuzzy logic” algorithm, identifies the requirements for the characteristics of each zone and power is applied in accordance to the anticipated response. Line voltages variations are factored into the control parameters, which are Model Predictive rather than P.I.D.  (This ain’t your father’s Hot Runner Controller.)

All zone information is displayed on the full color touch screen, and any changes can be entered individually or globally. A selected zone can be displayed in “Zoom” mode, in order to allow quick visual checks from a distance.

The mold is monitored for potential problems on a continuous basis, diagnostic conditions are displayed on screen, together with Amp draw, percentage of power used, and other helpful information.

The controller also continually refines the level of power used at each zone and keeps the resulting values in memory. In the event of thermocouple failure during a production run, the zone is switched automatically to the percentage of power in memory, keeping the cavity in production.

As an alternative, by using the “Link” mode, the unit can be set-up to allow the thermocouple of a selected zone to control one or more zones simultaneously.

Global setting or “Copy” mode allows the user to set multiple zones simultaneously.
Job profiles can be labeled and stored for later recall utilizing the on-screen keyboard. The unit can be switched from Farenheit to Centigrade calibration in the field.

In the event that the molding operation has to be paused in order to perform mold or press adjustments, a “Park” mode automatically drops all set-points to a low setting, so that the resin in the Hot Runner System is not degraded and the re-start time is reduced significantly.

For the purpose of Statistical Process Control, Production Control and remote monitoring, communications with a computer or other machines is available.

Control cables and connectors are available to suit any user’s application.
